Swati & Sunaina Gold have pioneered the certification of pure Zari in India. The purest form of Zari is hand made employing a thoroughly indigenous process in one of the last surviving artisanal workshops in India.

Banaras is one of India’s most prolific weaving centres of India, practising multiple complex weaves such as Jamdani, Rangkaat, Gyaser and Kadhua. These have all been a part of Swati & Sunaina Gold’s collections over the years. ‘Art of Weaving’ is a comprehensive visual presentation of details that set each weave apart.

The making of a brocaded handwoven saree begins much earlier than the weaving itself, and involves a range of processes, from creating an original artwork, its translation into a graph and punched cards for the jacquard, fitting of the jacquard on the loom, dyeing of the yarn, its preparation for the warp and weft, and the eventual mounting on the loom.
